• Academic IELTS 
• General Training IELTS (GT)

Today we will be focusing on IELTS General Training Module and will be explaining this module in much detail. Most of the people are looking for information regarding IELTS test preparation and are confused about, which IELTS version is appropriate for them. Who Should Do IELTS General (GT) Module?

IELTS General and IELTS Academic both are having difference purposes and designed for different people. The IELTS General Training Module, is specifically designed for those who are interested in to get immigration of some English speaking country where English is a first language of communication for instance; Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England etc. Similarly, IELTS General Training module is suitable for those people who are going for some training programs, work experience, or secondary education etc. 

What to Expect in IELTS General Training (GT) Module?:

Like IELTS Academic the IELTS General Training module is also used to check the proficiency level of the candidate interested in to get the immigration or going for work experience etc. In IELTS General Training Module, the candidate will be facing 4 different modules just same as IELTS Academic. The main sections in which candidate will appear are Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking. 

Where is the Difference In IELTS General Training (GT) Module?:

Before going for your IELTS test preparation you must know that there is a slight difference between these two modules.

• Listening Section (Similar to IELTS Academic)

This section is just similar to IELTS Academic and there is no such difference as you will be hearing a conversation; and you have to give answers accordingly. There will be total 40 questions just like IELTS Academic section and the level of difficulty will be same.

• Reading Section (Different from IELTS Academic) 

This section is bit different from the IELTS Academic module as in IELTS Academic, you will be having 3 different paragraphs and question will be based on those paragraphs. However, in IELTS General Training (GT) Module, you will be having 3 sections, but the level of difficulty will be less as compare to the IELTS Academic module.

• Writing Section (Different from IELTS Academic) 

This section is also different from IELTS Academic module. In the section 1 of this module the candidate have to write “an application” or “a letter”. Moreover, in Section 2 of this module, you have to write an essay on a given statement.

• Speaking Section (Same as IELTS Academic)

This section is just similar to IELTS Academic module. In IELTS General Training (GT) module the candidate also have to appear in different sections of communication with IELTS examiner. The examiner will assess the communication and will give band to the candidate accordingly. 

Conclusively, we can say that there is a slight difference between IELTS General and IELTS Academic module. IELTS General (GT) module is designed for people, who are interested in immigration, work experience and secondary education. This training module is less difficult and not suitable for students, who are interested in to get higher education.
